Has anyone suffered this problem before - Guild Wars Forums

For some reason none of my characters(12 that have access) can map at all to anywhere in Prophecies or EotN? My 2 perma pre characters i can log onto to fine and map them in pre-searing, yet when it comes to the rest of them it just fails to load then gives me a 005 code. The code is apparently a firewall issue code yet i'm not quite sure how i can still map anywhere in 2 campaigns and in pre-searing yet nowhere in Proph or EotN(and unfortunately i don't have any characters that were left in the proph campaign when i logged off them). Has anyone suffered similar problems and can explain what is going on?

Also now I am limited to European English Districts only in the 2 campaigns I can play, I tried going to help someone from a German district and it refused to load then gave me the same error 005 code.

Tried logging into my pre characters after Lordscro's post and now it seems I am not able to log onto them, same error code.

Try re-installing the game. Make sure to back up your templates and screenshots before you begin. Use the -image command method and run it overnight as it will take quite few hours.

Thanks for the reply, but i believe this problem is not at my end as this is happening on 2 different laptops so them both having the same failure is unlikely. Although i shall do this as a last resort if it doesn't fix itself by tomorrow evening, as i have had to do this for other reasons a few years ago and know it takes about 4hours to download it all. Is there any other reason that it might be messing around?(other than 2 copies of GW having the same damaged data)

Had a similar problem once a year or so ago. I was unable to go to anywhere in Factions, couldn't even get on my toons that were in Factions somewhere. I had Factions for over a year with no issues.

Contacted GW support and it turns out they had removed Factions from my account and asked me for some sort of purchase proof and the CD key.

Not sure if you problem is related but it might be something to look into.

Were both laptops running wireless through the same router? If so, have you tried running a wired connection? Have you tried removing the router and connecting the modem directly to a laptop?
Have you tried resetting the modem and router? (Unplug the power for a few seconds)

Two different connections, 1st laptop is wireless to home network the 2nd is through a mobile internet dongle. Can try resetting it and directly connecting it to the router but I don't think that will do much tbh.

On a quick sidenote can someone post anet's support address as I cannot remember it. Thanks

Ok now this is just getting weirder and weirder. Managed to access EotN with one of my chars and from there could map to anywhere in Proph except Lions Arch(only one char can manage to get to EotN for some reason). Also still cannot log into my 2 pre chars. I Shall try investigating this more tonight after i have had some sleep, let's hope it's just a bug of some sort.

The most likely thing is a connection issue between you and a-net, resulting in packet loss to several of their servers, namely LA and eotn ones.

The problem i had now seems to have disappeared and mapping to Proph and my pre chars is possible once again. Thankyou all for trying to help, still gonna wait on Anet for a response because i believe it's a bug on their end if i get a sensible reply from them i'll post here in case others have similar problems.
